We did it. We moved our girl into @johnbrownuniver We did it. We moved our girl into @johnbrownuniversity yesterday for the next season of her life. We had so much fun unpacking and organizing her dorm room, connecting with her roommate and her parents, and meeting her RA’s! I’ll hold onto the sweetest memories of praying over her in our hotel room and then, again, at the end of chapel. It was the hardest goodbye, all the tears reminding me of the deep love we have for Hailey. Joy and sadness can co-exist in this transition!

I have no doubts that @hailey.gwynn.o is exactly where God wants her to be. She is ready to expand her wings and soar! God has you Hailey and you are so very loved!
In Christian culture, we’ve had a history of gloss In Christian culture, we’ve had a history of glossing over painful things in our lives. Downplaying the struggles we wrestle with. Quietly pushing down what is hard and using prayer or platitudes as a cover-up.

However, in recent years, there’s been a swing towards more authenticity. A trend toward talking about what is real in life. Real pain. Deep hurt. True disappointment. We’re seeing honesty and vulnerability lead the way in Christian circles to better align with how Jesus truly wants to meet us in our pain.

And it’s been BEAUTIFUL to see people receive the deep love of Jesus and experience His genuine care for them.

But, what if in naming all that is hard, we end up stuck there? Read more👉🏻🔗 https://owensjen.com/how-to-get-unstuck-when-life-is-hard/
It’s another #seniorsunday post for our girl, Broo It’s another #seniorsunday post for our girl, Brooklyn! This November, she’ll be going on her first international mission trip to Jamaica with her class (and her DAD who organizes the trip-something she has heard about for years and now gets to share this experience….such a special memory! ❤️) Last year, Hailey’s class was on the ground serving in Jamaica just 7 days after the hurricane! One the unique opportunities she had was to bring a pair of knee pads to a young woman with cerebral palsy who walks on her knees. This year, we are hoping to bring that same young woman a battery to replace what’s broken in her power wheelchair. 🙏

Brooklyn will also be going into schools to share the love of Jesus, taking food to the elderly and people with disabilities who are unable to leave their homes, building/repairing/painting where needed and continuing hurricane relief.

It costs $1050 per person for the trip which includes, airfare, lodging, food and team supplies for eight days. She has already been fundraising this year but still has a lofty goal ahead. Here’s the ask: If you want to support Brooklyn, a few options you can consider:
1. Purchase a $10 car wash coupon from her for Tidal Wave! These don’t expire for a year and are good for the $30 Graph-X4 car wash! Grab one or a few (cash or Venmo)!and Brooklyn will get them to you!
2. Make a tax deductible donation (check or Venmo to the KCCC with her name in the memo) or you can Venmo me directly at Jen-Owens139 if the tax deduction isn’t important to you! Whatever you give goes DIRECTLY to support Brooklyn.

We would also love for you to pray for Brooklyn and her senior class as they prepare for this trip. She has been at KCCS since Kindergarten and this trip is a high point of all the seniors each year.

Any way you are able to support Brooklyn (as many of you supported Hailey!) we are EXTREMELY grateful! ❤️
S E N I O R Y E A R kicked off for Brooklyn today S E N I O R Y E A R kicked off for Brooklyn today! It’s been a joy to watch her grow up at KCC and hard to believe this is it….the last year! 😭 Brooklyn is fiercely loyal, loves to make people laugh, is generous and thoughtful, and brings fun to every room. We can’t wait to see what good God has in store for her this year! @brooklyn.m.owens you’re still as cute as you were on the first day of Kindergarten! 😘💕

It was a team effort to pull off Brooklyn’s vision for painting her senior parking spot and it turned out amazing! This is girl is creative and loves to see an idea become reality. She added the reference to Jesus’ comforting words in Matthew 6:34
““Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Here’s to a sweet beginning of your senior year @brooklyn.m.owens Love you!

🎉BACK TO BACK REGIONAL CHAMPS🎉 What a blast cheer 🎉BACK TO BACK REGIONAL CHAMPS🎉 What a blast cheering on this incredible team of young women! They have played their hearts out this season and it’s onto state quarterfinals on Monday.

Brooklyn transitioned from offense to defense this season and she has been ROCKIN’ it!! She’s speedy, aggressive, and passes up the line with ease. So proud of her hard work this season and I’m ready to be LOUD on the sidelines this week!
